Obsession Racing Press Release 2015 #3

MENIFEE, CA – The first weekend in March started off in Tucson Arizona for Monster Jam.  This was a three day event with 4 shows.  Justin Cluster piloted the Obsession Truck for Rick and Eric drove his Obsessed truck.  This show was performed on a concrete floor with raw cars.  This is usually a challenged track for most but our trucks handled it perfectly.  Eric came on top with the fastest qualifying time and earned a cool trophy to prove it.  They did great freestyles with scores ranging in the top half.

Rick flew out Saturday evening to meet Justin and Eric in El Paso Texas for another Monster Jam show.  Saturday Justin drove Obsession and broke the sway bar and it unfortunately ended in the motor damaging it for Sunday’s show.  They tried everything they could to get Obsession to run for Sunday’s event but nothing seemed to work with what they had.  Eric was on fire on Sunday afternoon! He was the fifth truck out for freestyle and caught some breath taking amazing air which rewarded him by placing him in the hot seat until the 18th place by Todd Leduc in Metal Mulisha stepped up to the plate.  Todd may have beaten his score but Eric was the real winner as his truck was still in one piece and was able to drive into the trailer with no issue like the others.

Justin Cluster was done helping us for the year and headed back home to Watsonville.  We really appreciated him helping us out this year.  The next show for Rick and Eric was closer to home in Victorville California for Outlaw Monster Trucks.  This was a freestyle only show with just Rick’s truck Obsession with Eric behind the wheel.  Eric was a crowd favorite in his Dad’s truck and ended the show literally driving the wheels off of it and taking the overall win for the night!

Ending our events for March was in Las Vegas for a Monster Jam display.  Eric and Josh were there for the whole week prepping the trucks and making sure everything was in order with Rick and I got there.  It is always a fun display to do as we get to see so many fans, friends and family that we don’t see often.  In this industry of Monster Trucks everyone seems like family and it is comforting that everyone acknowledges your accomplishments and compliments you and gives you the love and support you’ve worked so hard for.  So far this year has been a great success and we are looking forward to more memories and good times with our Monster Jam family!
