Obsession Racing Press Release 2014 #3

MENIFEE, CA – The month of March started off in El Paso Texas for Monster Jam. This show consisted of 2 shows, one on Saturday night and the other on Sunday afternoon. We were for the first time glad to leave California’s stormy rainy weather to be in sunny El Paso. The winds were high but at least it was dry. This weekend was not to be their weekend for racing, but for freestyle Eric did phenomenal to make up for it! I think he got some pointers from Todd Leduc!

On Saturday the 15th was a very busy day for Rick and Eric. They had their trucks at two different locations. They dropped off the Obsession truck in Victorville on Friday night and then Rick headed over to San Dimas with the Obsessed truck for a display for Jiffy Lube that started at 8am until 2pm. The display went well and Rick de-tired Obsessed and headed back to Victorville to catch the evening show of Eric performing in Obsession for the second time. Both shows in Victorville for Outlaw Monster Trucks were freestyle only and Eric did a great job in Dad’s Obsession taking the wins!

Finishing off the month was down in Mexicali Mexico for Monster Truck Showdown. This show was Saturday night only. Rick did an awesome job bringing home the win in racing. Eric caught some huge air off of the big jump in freestyle and put on a great show for our Mexico fans!!

Our Auction Hunters episode aired also in March. They will be playing reruns on Spike TV so keep your eyes open for it!!

Obsession Racing Press Release 2014 #2

MENIFEE, CA – February started off in Salt Lake City Utah for Allstar Motorsports Productions. This was our first time running for this promoter and it was a huge success and a lot of fun to work for them. This weekend consisted of three shows with one on Friday night and two shows on Saturday. It was a great weekend for Obsession Racing. Rick won racing for all three of the shows with Eric placing within seconds behind him. On Saturday Rick won freestyle launching off of the freestyle ramp that brought the crowd to their feet cheering!! A big part to the success of this week has to go to Mark Gallagher for all of his help for Obsession Racing. We appreciated Mark in letting Rick use his shop and stay at their home in between events. We also want to thank his wife Leslie for keeping Rick fed and making him feel at home while he was on the road.

From Utah Rick traveled on to Spokane Washington for Monster Jam for a weekend that consisted of 4 shows. Eric and I barely made the flight into Spokane due to weather on Thursday night. We were grateful for Craig Kenagy for chauffeuring us around and helping us crew at the show! It was cold and snowing and we sure did miss our California sunshine but it was successful show and it always nice to be with our Monster Jam Family! Rick and Eric had some very close races with fast times and their freestyles were always good solid runs. Eric did a great interview with Scott Heaton and he is getting more comfortable each time talking on the microphone in front of a sold out crowd.

Our last show in February was closer to home and out of the snow. It was in Indio California for WGAS Motorsports. This show was for two days on Sunday and Monday over Presidents weekend. This was a freestyle only show. The stands were packed with local friends and fans and everyone was excited and pleased with Rick and Eric’s performance! Our next event is for Monster Jam in El Paso Texas for some more high flying fun!!

Obsession Racing Press Release 2014 #1

MENIFEE, CA – This year started off on New Year’s Day heading for Tacoma Washington for Monster Jam. This was Eric’s first event for Monster Jam. This event consisted of 4 shows in the course of three days. Eric was up against Grave Digger in racing for the whole weekend. Justin Cluster filled for Rick for two days as Rick was still recovering from his double knee surgery in late November. First quarter is always exciting to be back working for Monster Jam with the large fan base and strong runs against some of the most talented drivers in the industry. A lot of the drivers have been around Eric since he was a baby and they enjoyed running with him and complement his driving ability. When running the trucks at this level for Monster Jam the trucks take quite the abuse and Eric’s run on Saturday night ended with the left rear champagne breaking in half and ending his weekend early. We want to thank Justin Cluster for driving and crewing for us in Tacoma.

The following weekend we were back at home in Anaheim once again for Monster Jam. This show was Saturday night only. We only had Obsessed booked for this show and Eric was the main attraction. Eric lost first round in racing against Titan. But he made up for it in his freestyle run ending with a high score that ranked higher than the big named trucks. It was a very proud night for Obsession Racing.

San Diego California was our next event with Monster Jam. This show was also a Saturday night only show with both Obsession and Obsessed with Rick and Eric driving. The show started out with Eric’s truck’s jack shaft breaking but they were able to get it repaired for freestyle. Rick did a great job in racing and was fourth fastest in qualifying. Rick and Eric did a great freestyle run qualifying in the upper half of the bracket.

January ended in Anaheim California for Monster Jam with a Saturday night only show. Both trucks were booked for this event. They had quick runs in racing. Rick was first out in freestyle setting the bar high for all of the following drivers. Eric did a great freestyle run with a lot of big air and ending in a roll over. Our next event in February will be in Salt Lake City Utah.
