Obsession Racing Press Release 2013 #11

MENIFEE, CA – Starting off in the month of November we had a show in Klamath Falls Oregon for California Trucks and Stuff.  This event was a three day show that started four days earlier with displays throughout the Klamath Falls Area. This was our second year in Klamath Falls.  With Eric being in his senior year at school he was unable to attend these events. Justin Cluster filled in for Eric in his Obsessed truck.  The weekend was very successful for Obsession Racing.  This show had racing and freestyle.  Both Wrong Way Rick and Obsessed placed all weekend in top half of the bracket in both racing and freestyle.

The following weekend Rick and Justin were in Redmond Oregon for WHR Motorsports for a 2 day event.  These shows also had racing and freestyle.  Friday night set the fastest time in qualifying and both Justin and Rick made it to the Semifinals in racing. For Saturday night in racing Justin went to the semifinals and Rick made it to the finals.  For freestyle both nights Justin set the bar high being the first truck out.  Rick was second to last out both nights and pleased the crowd with prenominal freestyle! Immediately after the show Justin and Rick made a nonstop trip home for Rick to have knee surgery on both knees the following Thursday.  Everything went well with his surgery and he is recovering well. Eric has been busy helping get the trucks prepped and ready for the new season.  2014 will be an exciting year for Obsession racing as Eric will be driving for Monster Jam this year!

Obsession Racing Press Release 2013 #10

MENIFEE, CA – We started off October with Eric turning 18 in Red Bluff California for the West Coast Nationals. On Thursday October 3 (Eric’s actual Birthday) we started the morning with Eric and Rick doing displays for the local elementary and preschools. After the displays they were live on air for the local radio stations where they battled it out on the mike to gear up the audience to show their father/son competitiveness! In the evening to follow tradition they had a parade down Main Street to start the kickoff party to promote the event. The town always enjoys seeing all the trucks travel down the street and are able to get up close to the trucks while they are parked and get autographs from their favorite drivers. Travis and Tyler did an exceptional job of decorating Eric’s truck for his Birthday and made it a memorable day for him.
Friday night Eric showed the big guns what an experienced 18 year old could do! He won racing and freestyle! It was a proud and memorable moment for Obsession Racing! Saturday night Eric beat his Dad in the semifinals. (This will be Eric’s talk at the table for all of the next holidays to come!) Rick and Eric put on a great freestyle that brought the crowd to their feet! Wrong Way Rick is always a fan favorite in Red Bluff! Sunday afternoon Eric made it to the semifinals in racing. In racing they had lights but unfortunately Rick’s view of the light was restricted and this put him out of racing. Freestyle went smooth and steady and was a great run with a lot of air time and obstacles! Everyone was pleased and it was a really fun show and looking forward to doing it again next year!

On October 11th through the 13th we had a show for R & S Motorsports in Turlock California. Eric was unable to do this show because of school. Jimmy Lehnertz took over for him in Obsessed. Rick also drove his Wrong Way Rick truck for this show. Rick had the fastest qualifying times in all three shows. He made it to the semifinals against Dan Radoni in the Patriot on Friday night in racing. For freestyle Jimmy unfortunately ended up with the rubber side up on Eric’s truck. The crowd liked it but unfortunately this means work for the guys! Saturday Rick won racing and put on a great freestyle. Jimmy ran his freestyle on Saturday night without the body but still seemed to mange to roll it again off of the jump. These things happen in this industry you just have to roll with it! Literally!! For Sunday Rick made it to the finals in racing. Luckily three times isn’t a charm and Jimmy kept the truck the right way up and put on a great freestyle run! We are very grateful to Jimmy and his family for keeping our trucks and semi until our show in Oregon. Jimmy fully repaired Obsessed and has it all ready for Rick in November! If you’re going to roll a truck, it pays to know how to fiberglass! We really appreciate him fixing it and stepping in and helping drive and crew! Our next stop will be in Oregon.

Obsession Racing Press Release 2013 #9

MENIFEE, CA – The beginning of September was a busy month for Obsession Racing. It started out in Sublimity Oregon for the Sublimity Harvest Festival. Eric and I flew up to Oregon on Wednesday evening to do the show for the sponsor night on Thursday. Justin Cluster was going to take over for Rick in Wrong Way Rick for the Thursday’s sponsor night. Rick did a commercial on Thursday for Straight Talk Singular in Dan Radoni’s Patriot Truck since we had our trucks in Oregon for the Harvest Fest. The Thursday night show was cancelled due to rain and thunderstorms. Rick’s commercial went smoothly and we looking forward to see it when it airs! We will keep you posted on when it airs on television because you might not recognize it with an all red body and wing graphics on the sides. Friday morning Rick flew up for the rest of the Harvest Festival’s event. Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s show are freestyle only shows. This event is held for a fund raiser for the community. This was Eric’s first show with this promoter and they were really pleased with his performance and ability to handle his truck. As usual the Sublimity fans loved Wrong Way Rick and his ability to drive the truck in reverse! It had a lot of people fooled and the kids always are amazed!

After bringing our trucks back home, Rick had to return Dan’s truck back to his shop in Santa Cruz California before our show in Pomona. We were really grateful to Radoni Racing for letting us use their truck for the commercial. We felt honored to be trusted with Radoni Racing’s equipment and trucks. You don’t just let anybody use over $250,000 worth of your equipment. We couldn’t thank them enough!

On Friday September 27th was a one night show in Pomona for WGAS Motorsports. Eric drove his truck Obsessed and Rick drove Wrong Way Rick. This show consists of racing and freestyle. Rick and Eric did a good job in racing. Eric was unable to put on a freestlye show because his truck was having an oil pressure issue. Rick on the other hand put on a great freestyle run and was the first truck to barricade through the R.V.!!

Our next show will be held in Red Bluff California for the West Coast Nationals with both Obsessed and Wrong Way Rick.
