Obsession Racing 2017 Press Release #4

MENIFEE, CA – Our first show in April was on the 7 th , 8 th and 9 th in Chico California for Monster X. On Friday night Rick and Eric made it to the semifinals in racing. Freestyle was a

challenge because of the rain on Friday and Saturday night. When the ground is soaked and muddy it is hard for the truck to have any traction. They just want to slip and slide around

although Rick took second place in racing on Saturday night. The sun came out on Sunday which was nice but the ground was still very saturated. It didn’t seem to affect Rick as he took

the win on Sunday in racing.

The following weekend Rick and Eric headed to sunny Phoenix Arizona for Grand Canyon Promotions. This event was held on Friday and Saturday with both racing and freestyle

competition. Rick did great in racing again this weekend and Eric impressed everyone in freestyle with his usual massive air which was the highest of the weekend!

Finishing up in the month of April our last event was held in Puyallup Washington for WGAS Motorsports. This was a Friday night only show consisting of racing and freestyle. Eric had

issues with his RII and wasn’t able to run because of safety issues. Rick did great as he made it to the finals in racing against Jimmy Creten in Bounty Hunter.

MENIFEE, CA – The first weekend in March started out in Atlanta Georgia for another exciting event held by Monster Jam.  Our friend Mark Gallagher flew out to help us crew for the Saturday and Sunday shows.  This was Eric’s final show without having a body after it was destroyed in Jacksonville Florida.  Saturday night Rick laid down a good run in racing and put on a crowd pleasing freestyle.  Eric passed Dad up in racing and was on fire making it into the top eight category.  Even without a body Eric did his enormous air show in freestyle and placed sixth out of sixteen trucks in freestyle.  On Sundays show Rick and Eric lost in their first round of racing but Rick made it up in freestyle by putting on a great run! Unfortunately for Eric they were not able to get his truck back to running condition for freestyle. Rick had a long haul to do after this show.  It was a 2,100 mile trip home to get ready for the Las Vegas Monster Jam show. Once they got home they had a lot of work to do to get Eric’s new body mounted and painted and any other maintenance work that need to be done for the Double Down show.

Las Vegas is always a week long show.  Obsession was on display only for this show.  Eric in his new 1968 Ford body competed in the Double Down Race on Thursday night.  Everyone loved his new body style on Obsessed!  Hot Wheels told us that Eric truck was one of the most requested toys to be made.  Thursday night Eric was on fire in racing! He was timed as the fasted time in the Double Down history of Monster Jam. He worked his way up to the final round!  It was amazing to see all of the love and support of our Monster truck family! In the finals he was quick off of the line but unfortunately clipped the wall and rolled.  We all were so very proud of him making it as far as he did.  I think he has found a new love in racing now too!

Obsession Racing 2017 Press Release #2

MENIFEE, CA – Our first weekend of February Obsession Racing headed to Arizona for another Fox Sports West Monster Jam show. This event was a Saturday only show. This was a hard show for Rick because he broke one axle during his wheelie competition. He fixed the axle in time for freestyle and on his third hit in freestyle he broke his axle on the other side, differential, and lost his transmission. Eric was up last for freestyle as he won the previous show in Anaheim. By the time it was for Eric to go out all of the obstacles were pretty much demolished and there wasn’t a whole lot he could do. But this didn’t stop him from catching his usual mile high air but unfortunately after a couple of his air time travel flights it stopped him short of his freestyle with a broken sway bar.

Rick, Eric and our crew guy Josh headed straight from Arizona to Houston Texas for a two day event for Monster Jam. On Saturday Rick and Eric put on another great show for our Texas fans! Eric caught big air as usual and did another backflip but this time the body separated from the frame and came off of his truck during his flip and he ended up destroying his truck body by running it over! Unfortunately we do not carry spare bodies with us so they had to make do with what they had for the following show on Sunday.

The Obsession Racing team worked all night repairing their trucks for the Sunday afternoon show. Obsession was able to make the pit party but the guys had to continue working on Obsessed up   until the show. Rick put on a smooth run with some good jumps and donuts. Eric was on kill again and did great for the afternoon crowd! The last show in February for Obsession Racing was in  Jacksonville Florida continuing the Monster Jam tour. This was also another two day event. Saturday Eric won the wheelie competition. On Sunday the Florida fans witnessed the Father and Son team compete against each other in racing. This was the fastest time that they each had in the series so far! We must admit there is some competitiveness when it comes down to the both of them competing against each other.
