MENIFEE, CA – The last two weeks of August put us at the Josephine County Fair in Grants Pass, OR and the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe, WA. The Josephine County Fair celebrated its thirty years of Motorsports. The show was set up as a two night show. One night for tractor pulling and the other night was tough trucks. Both nights ended with the Fabtech Obsession closing the show. In all of the thirty years Grants Pass, OR has never seen a car stack for an obstacle even with them having trucks such Big Foot and Grave Digger in years past. On Saturday night the Fabtech Obsession was the first truck in the Fairs history to jump over a car stack. We had a great time in Grants Pass,OR. We would like to thank Randy and Sherry Smallwood and all of the rest of the crew for such a great time. Rick even got to meet Charlie Daniels and had his picture taken with him next to his truck. Rick stated that it wasn’t an event; it was a “happening”.
From Oregon he went to Monroe Washington. This was a two night event held on Thursday and Friday with nine trucks competing for WHR Motorsports. Thursday night we made it to the semi finals. It was a hard line of trucks to make it there when you have trucks like Bigfoot to compete with. Friday night started out to be good with Rick being second fastest qualifier. Rick figured it would the Fabtech Obsession versus Bounty Hunter in the finals. Unfortunately Rick was looking to far ahead and was unable to make it to the semi finals. Rick did come out to complete his freestyle event that night and with AmeriGas and James Duff in attendance he knew he had to do freestyle to wow the crowd and that he did accomplish.
