MENIFEE, CA – Our first show of 2016 started off in Anaheim California for Monster Jam. We are privileged to do the West Coast stadium series for Monster Jam this year. Rick’s Obsession truck debuted its new 20th anniversary body. This design has some of the highlights of Obsession’s career. It is amazing how many fans and friends we have made over 20 years.
Obsession is like Eric’s twin they came into the world 20 years ago. Eric did a great job at this show placing in the top 5 category for freestyle out of 16 trucks. His main goal for this year is to win in freestyle and this is a great start for him to achieve his goals.
Obsession Racing’s second event was also in California at Petco Park in San Diego for Monster Jam. This show started earlier in the week as on Thursday Obsession and Obsessed went on display at the local Ford Dealership. Then early Friday morning Rick and Eric did media for the local news to promote the show. Saturday night at the show Rick’s night was cut short in qualifying because the pin broke in the mag. In this stadium you pit on the floor and you are not able to work on the trucks because you can’t be on the floor while trucks are running. Eric did another spectacular freestyle placing once again in the top 5 category of freestyle competing with some of the icons in the monster truck industry.
The following weekend Rick and Eric headed to Phoenix Arizona for another Monster Jam show. Both trucks put on a great performance for the Phoenix University fans. It has been a privilege running with some of the legends in the monster truck industry. They have all seen Eric grow up into the man he is today and it is wonderful to hear them complement his driving skills as we all feel like one big family.
