Obsession Racing Press Release 2014 #10

MENIFEE, CA – The month of October started out in Red Bluff, CA with J&K Motorsports at the West Coast Nationals.  This event started on Tuesday doing displays for the entire week to promote the show on the weekend.  One of the coolest things about this show is doing the parade with all twelve monster trucks down Main Street to the court house the night before the event.  This show is Friday, Saturday and Sunday with racing and freestyle each night.  Rick did very well in racing, going to the semifinals on Friday and Saturday and the finals on Sunday.  Eric did a great job in racing also and won the final round of racing on Saturday night!  This weekend was the first time Eric used a Detroit locker in the front of his truck and his outcome showed the improvement it made! Freestyle was a show stopper for both Eric and Rick bringing the crowd to feet.  Eric also got special treatment when the crowd sang to him Happy Birthday to celebrate his 19th birthday. It was a fun show and we always enjoy being a part of this event.

On the 17th and 18th of October we had an event at Pismo Beach, California for Dirt Cinema for the 2014 Huck Fest.  This show is mainly for an off road jumping contest and we were basically a fill in for entertainment.  Wrong Way Rick was only there for display and Eric’s truck was the entertainment for in between the off road truck jump contest.  The crowd enjoyed Eric’s performance and the roar of the engine and massiveness of truck!  We look forward to doing it again next year.

On October 23rd Obsessed did a display for the Lucas Oil Off Road kickoff party at the Tilted Kilt restaurant in Temecula California to promote the regional races for the following weekend in Lake Elsinore California.  There was good crowd and it is always nice to see the attention the monster trucks get even with all of the fancy off road vehicles around it!

MENIFEE, CA – We spent the month of September in the shop getting a head start for our 2015 season.  We normally wait and do our routine maintenance in November and December, but since we have dates in November and had the month of September off, we started early.

We got four sets of tires and wheels ready so we can run the best set of tires for the type of tracks at the different events.  We also rebuilt all eight differentials.  Four of which we put into the trucks and two spares for the trailer & the last two to keep in the shop.  Eric will be running a Detroit Locker front and rear in his monster truck starting in October.  We replaced Eric’s front housing in Obsessed with a new flange with 1 ½ thickness. This should be a big help in supporting his massive air jumps that he likes to do!  Last but not least we attended the Leduc Off Road Swap Meet where we purchased a tig welder. This will help us tremendously for the specialty welds that we do.

In October we have two events one in Red Bluff California and the Huck Fest in Pismo Beach California.  We look forward to seeing all of you that can attend!

MENIFEE, CA – The first show we did in August was for WGAS Motorsports on Sunday the 10th in Vancouver Washington.  This show was only on Sunday with an afternoon and evening event of freestyle only.  It has been a long time since Obsession Racing has done an event at the Clark County Fair in Washington.  The people were once again pleased with Rick and Eric’s performance and it was successful show.  We want to give a special thanks to Travis Groth for coming down and helping us crew!

From Washington Rick and Eric headed to Salinas California to do and event for the Salinas Rodeo Fairgrounds.  They had four days of displays and the show was on Sunday afternoon.  There was racing and freestyle for this event.  Rick made it to the finals against Bounty Hunter.  Eric put on a solid freestyle run catching some of the biggest air at the show.

Our final event in August was for Redwood Acres Raceway in Yreka California.  This show was on Saturday and Sunday with racing and freestyle.   Saturday night Rick won against Titan in racing & Eric made it to the semi-finals.   Eric and Rick did a fantastic freestyle run that definitely pleased the crowd! Unfortunately Sunday was cut short when both Rick and Eric blew differentials early in the show.  We want to thank Eric’s friend Josh Enos for coming along with Rick and Eric to help crew!
