Obsession Racing Press Release 2013 #8

MENIFEE, CA – In the month of August we had three shows, a display and a television commercial. The first event was in Salinas California for the Salinas Rodeo Foundation. This show started off with four days of displays to promote the show that was held on Sunday August 11th. For the first time this venue had an over under course for racing. It was a driver oriented track. We were fortunate that Rick and Eric had done this sort of course before for the Robbie Gordon Series. In racing Rick took Wrong Way Rick all the way to the Semifinals. Eric did a phenomenal job in freestyle and placed second to Dan Rodoni in the Patriot truck.

From Salinas Rick and Justin Cluster headed to Washington for a one night show for WHR Motorsports in Lyndon. Eric and I headed home after Salinas because Eric had to attend his first day of High School as a senior. This show had only Wrong Way Rick booked for this event. It was racing and freestyle and Rick took home the win in racing and pleased the crowd in freestyle!

After the Lyndon show, Rick and Justin headed to Kent Washington for an E.B. Bradley display/open house. The display was a huge success and the vendors and customers are already to have us for next year’s open house.

Our final show in August was held in Monroe Washington for Evergreen Speedway. This show Justin Cluster drove Eric’s truck Obsessed for him, and Rick drove Wrong Way Rick. This show was on held on Thursday and Friday night with racing and freestyle. Rick took first place in racing both nights once again!! The trucks had a good solid run for freestyle and Justin caught the highest air in freestyle over the van stack on Friday night! We want to give a special thanks to Justin Cluster for all of his help in crewing and driving!!

Obsession Racing Press Release 2013 #7

MENIFEE, CA – Obsession Racing has been very busy over the past couple of months. In June we did an event in Yuma Arizona for Arizona Short Corse. The event was a Saturday show with freestyle only. This was the first show of the year for Wrong Way Rick to appear. We had a new driver, Michael Gritzke piloting Wrong Way Rick. Michael has been helping us crew for many years and did a fantastic job driving the truck. Eric drove his truck Obsessed along with Michael and they pleased the crowd with their performances! This event only had our two monster trucks for entertainment for their off road race series event.

In the month of June Rick and I celebrated our 25th wedding Anniversary. We were blessed to be able to go on a cruise to Alaska for two weeks. It was an incredible trip! The day after we got home we packed up and headed to the Del Mar Fair for a four day show for WGAS Motorsports. This show was again a success for Obsession Racing. Rick and Eric both took home a freestyle win for two of the days.

The following weekend Rick and Eric went to Turlock California for the Turlock Fair for John Shipman Motorsports. This was a one night event for Wrong Way Rick and Obsessed. This event was mainly for tough trucks and Rick and Eric closed the show with a freestyle run leading everyone to their feet with excitement!

After the Turlock fair we transformed Wrong Way Rick back to the E.B. Bradley body to put on display for their trade show in Las Vegas. The show was a success and we wanted to give big thank you to E.B. Bradley for all of their continuing support.

Obsession Racing Press Release 2013 #6

MENIFEE, CA – The month of May started out on the forth in San Diego California for another Robbie Gordon Stadium Super Trucks Series. It was a very technical track including both over under jumps. One had a 40’ gap distance and the other was a 60’ gap. In practice Rick and Eric had no difficulties and did a clean run. This track didn’t intimidate Eric as he made it to the finals against the legend Dan Runte in Big Foot. It was an extremely close race but due to safety issues Eric made the right decision and didn’t take the last jump which gave Big Foot the win. Safety is always the first call to make and we are proud that Eric made that decision!

On Friday May 10th Rick received a call from Feld asking him if we could attend their event in Fresno California for their Saturday and Sunday show? We were doing display when he called and we had to switch bodies after the display in the late evening in order to leave for Fresno first thing in the morning. It was a late night, but with the help of our friends Kaya and Michael we were able to make the Fresno show on time. Rick drove Eric’s truck Obsessed because Obsession was apart for maintenance to get ready for the following show. Since we were just filing in for another truck it was only a one truck event for us. Saturday Rick had a really good night driving Obsessed. On Sunday Rick snapped an axle in qualifying and still had the third fastest time and was able to finish the show.

The following weekend we were back down in San Diego for another SST Series. Eric did this event solo in his LAT, Superior Welding #103 truck. Eric made it once again to the semifinals. This was our last event for the Stadium Super Truck Series as they are headed back East. We want to give a big thanks to Darren Migues for transporting Eric’s truck to and from the SST event due to engine difficulties in our tractor. It is currently fixed and running and was ready for our next event!

Ending our May schedule we transformed our E.B. Bradley truck to Wrong Way Rick for a display for WGAS in Del Mar California for their Press Night for the Del Mar Fair in July.
