MENIFEE, CA – The Fabtech Obsession rolls into Fresno California on Thursday March 8th for the start of a very promising weekend. We kicked off Thursday afternoon with a jam packed display; live radio and ticket give away at Wilson Motorcycles.

Early Friday morning started off with a live media interview for the morning new shows for three different channels (CBS, NBC & FOX). Between the three networks it consisted of driver interviews, background shots and inside of the truck broadcasting. We had over an hour worth of television time.

Friday night started off with a wheelie contest. Rick drew an unlucky number that put him second out for the wheelie competition. Even being the second truck out he managed to place third in the competition. Rick worked his way to the semi finals in racing. Even being paired up against Grave Digger, Rick was pleased to advance the Fabtech Obsession to the finals. The finals were the Fabtech Obsession verses the Patriot. It was a tough night for competing and the Patriot was able to take the win. With freestyle remaining Rick was the forth truck out. The Fabtech Obsession had set the highest score so far to this point. By the end of the night The Fabtech Obsession settled for third in the Freestyle competition.

Saturday night was almost a repeat of Friday Night. In the wheelie competition the Fabtech Obsession placed third. Once again we had to race against Grave Digger in the semi finals. The finals came down to the Fabtech Obsession and the Patriot. This time the Fabtech Obsession proudly took the victory! In freestyle we took third place once again. Monster Jam has a very competitive field of trucks and the Fabtech Obsession proud to be a part of it.

Our next event will be at the Monster Jam World Finals in Las Vegas Nevada for the pit party display.

MENIFEE, CA – Obsession Racing had it first opportunity to experience racing on cement for the Thunder National Event. This was not only Rick’s first experience driving on cement; it was his first time driving another Monster Truck. Thursday afternoon Rick received a phone call from Live Nation Motorsports asking if he would be able to drive one of their Monster Trucks for their Tucson Arizona show. Rick was honored that they asked him to drive their truck Bulldozer. Even though it is a Patrick built truck it was set up totally different than the Fabtech Obsession.

Friday night gave him some practice time and this leads him to the semi finals. Saturday he felt more comfortable in the truck and placed second in the donut contest with a score of 10, 10, 9. On Sunday Rick placed third in the sky wheelie competition.

This was our fist time working with Chad Tingler. He is the Grave Digger driver and was teamed up with the Bulldozer truck that Rick drove. He was great help to him and made him feel comfortable in Bulldozer. Cole is the pit crew for both trucks. He was on top of everything and was there to help whenever they needed him. For his first time racing another truck it was a great experience. He and was proud to know they had the confidence put him on Live Nation’s team.

This weekend the Fabtech Obsession will head to Fresno California for the Live NationMonster Jam.

MENIFEE, CA – This weekend was a real challenge for Obsessing Racing not having our hauler. It was in the shop having a motor overhaul. Thanks to the team at Young Transport we were able to make our show in Albuquerque, NM last weekend. They hauled our trailer to the show and back for us. The show was a Monster Jam event consisting of eight trucks. It was three shows in a row; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Friday night the Fabtech Obsession took fourth place in the wheelie competition and made it to the semi finals in racing. For freestyle the Fabtech Obsession took forth place.

Saturday night the Fabtech Obsession won the sky wheelie competition. This gave Rick great accomplishment knowing the trucks that he was up against. Unfortunately in the racing category we didn’t place as high as we would have like to. For freestyle we once took forth place.

Sunday afternoon the Fabtech Obsession took second place in the wheelie competition. We brook a sway bar during the competition. Even having a broken sway bar in the first round of racing we won. Rick couldn’t push the truck any further for racing with a broken truck. He managed to do freestyle but it was a first to do this with a broken sway bar. Rick said it was really hard to manage but his still placed fifth in doing so.

After the show Rod Wood with the McGruff Monster Truck was generous enough to give Rick a ride back to Tucson where the hauler was being repaired. Rick then drove back to the shop in our truck with its overhauled motor so he would be ready for his next event.
