Obsession Racing Press Release 2015 #5

MENIFEE, CA – May was a busy month for Obsession Racing.  It started out in Santa Rosa California for WGAS Motorsports.  This event had a Friday and Saturday evening show including racing and freestyle.  Rick and Eric both made it to the semifinals in racing for both nights and they were also in the top of bracket in freestyle. We really appreciate all of the help at the shows from Charlie Jarrett and Tom Tom to help keep our trucks in tip top shape and wide loading us to all of the displays. Friar Tucks kept the boys well fed and hydrated while they were in Santa Rosa.

From Santa Rosa Wrong Way Rick and Eric’s Obsessed truck headed to Turlock California once again for WGAS Motorsports.  This show was also a two day event with racing and freestyle. Here in Turlock Eric really shined with his incredible driving skills.  He had no problems clearing the bus stack and pulling off some wicked donuts!! Rick was also at the top but this was Eric’s weekend to shine.

Santa Maria California was the next stop after Santa Rosa for WGAS Motorsports.  This show was only a one day show on Saturday night.  They did several displays advertising for this event.  The displays did well in advertising as there was a full house on Saturday night.  This show was freestyle only.  Rick took fourth place in freestyle and Eric placed 2nd.  After this show the boys headed home.

Saturday the 23rd it was nice to have a close show here in Victorville California for the San Bernardino County Fair.  This show had racing and freestyle.  Rick to the win in Racing (even going backwards)!! And Eric won in freestyle! This was a great night for Obsession Racing!

MENIFEE, CA – Most of April was spent getting ready for our 6 week tour in California.  We had a show in Phoenix Arizona for Grand Canyon State Promotions on April 10th – 12th.  This show had Obsession and Obsessed driven by Rick and Eric.  These shows had racing and freestyle for the event.  Eric won racing in all three shows and Rick placed 2nd in racing.  Eric won two of the three shows in Freestyle.  This was a successful event for Obsession Racing.  The promoter has already booked us for next year because he was so pleased with their performances.

On the 15th of April Eric’s truck Obsessed was hired to do the concert opening video for Toby Keith.  This video shoot was filmed on the Disney Ranch in Santa Clarita.  Rick and Eric got the opportunity to meet Toby Keith.  Unfortunately I missed him so he promised Rick concert tickets.

Eric did a run through the mud pitching the truck sideways and the take was really cool looking and the producers loved it!

We ended April doing a display with a meet and greet in Moreno Valley California for a young boy named Gavin for his 6th Birthday Party.  All of the kids loved seeing the truck up close and I think the parents were just as excited too!! It turned out to be a really nice day for everyone!

Our six week tour will start on April 30th in Santa Rosa California.  You can check out our schedule on our web site www.obsessionracing.com  We hope to see you at one of the shows!!

Obsession Racing Press Release 2015 #3

MENIFEE, CA – The first weekend in March started off in Tucson Arizona for Monster Jam.  This was a three day event with 4 shows.  Justin Cluster piloted the Obsession Truck for Rick and Eric drove his Obsessed truck.  This show was performed on a concrete floor with raw cars.  This is usually a challenged track for most but our trucks handled it perfectly.  Eric came on top with the fastest qualifying time and earned a cool trophy to prove it.  They did great freestyles with scores ranging in the top half.

Rick flew out Saturday evening to meet Justin and Eric in El Paso Texas for another Monster Jam show.  Saturday Justin drove Obsession and broke the sway bar and it unfortunately ended in the motor damaging it for Sunday’s show.  They tried everything they could to get Obsession to run for Sunday’s event but nothing seemed to work with what they had.  Eric was on fire on Sunday afternoon! He was the fifth truck out for freestyle and caught some breath taking amazing air which rewarded him by placing him in the hot seat until the 18th place by Todd Leduc in Metal Mulisha stepped up to the plate.  Todd may have beaten his score but Eric was the real winner as his truck was still in one piece and was able to drive into the trailer with no issue like the others.

Justin Cluster was done helping us for the year and headed back home to Watsonville.  We really appreciated him helping us out this year.  The next show for Rick and Eric was closer to home in Victorville California for Outlaw Monster Trucks.  This was a freestyle only show with just Rick’s truck Obsession with Eric behind the wheel.  Eric was a crowd favorite in his Dad’s truck and ended the show literally driving the wheels off of it and taking the overall win for the night!

Ending our events for March was in Las Vegas for a Monster Jam display.  Eric and Josh were there for the whole week prepping the trucks and making sure everything was in order with Rick and I got there.  It is always a fun display to do as we get to see so many fans, friends and family that we don’t see often.  In this industry of Monster Trucks everyone seems like family and it is comforting that everyone acknowledges your accomplishments and compliments you and gives you the love and support you’ve worked so hard for.  So far this year has been a great success and we are looking forward to more memories and good times with our Monster Jam family!
